Kathleen Blakely

President of JFAN
(Japanese Festival Association of Nevada)

As the President of JFAN(Japanese Festival Association of Nevada), my mission in Las Vegas often encounters situations where Japanese interpretation is required. I have included Ms. Rios as a source of interpretation services in my responses to inquiries seeking such services. I have attended events locally in which Ms. Rios has served as the professional interpreter. Ms. Rios has always offered accurate and professional interpretation services and I would recommend her and American Interpreters Association without hesitation.

It has also been my pleasure to work with Ms. Rios with community service activities such as the Aki Matsuri Japanese festival (offered annual since 2010) wherein Ms. Rios provides interpretation by emceeing our stage performances in Japanese and English. I am the president and chair of the Japanese Festival Association of Nevada (JFAN), the presenters of Aki Matsuri, and am well acquainted with Ms. Rios as both a friend and professional interpreter.

Ms. Rios has supported promoting Japanese culture in the Las Vegas valley and I very much value her contributions to JFAN and consider her an asset to our non-profit group and our community.

University of Nevada Las Vegas International Center of Gaming Regulation

It’s my privilege to recommend Amy Rios and American Interpreters Association. Amy worked for the UNLV International Center for Gaming Regulation as an interpreter during training sessions for a Japanese Cabinet Office. The program included members of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and other major gaming companies.

Amy and American Interpreters Association provided all written document and PowerPoint translation services for the guest lecturers for the training session under a tight schedule and in high demand.
Amy was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was warm, friendly, professional and patient at all times. The best compliment I can give Amy is to simply say that our Japanese guests were very impressed with her skills and appreciated having her available to clarify sensitive materials presented in our training. I will use Amy and American Interpreters Association for interpretation and written translation again once we confirm our next Japanese training program.

It was a pleasure to meet you at the Japanese Consulate for the final planning meeting between the US Coast Guard and Japanese Coast Guard. You did a fantastic job interpreting complex maritime and Search and Rescue terms and procedures. I really appreciate you being there. The exercise was successful and very good to work with our international partners.

I am writing to recommend Mami Rios with American Interpreters Association as a Japanese interpreter. Ms. Rios has supported my Company’s development efforts over the last year in critical high-level business meetings that included some of our top executives as well as our most valued business partners. Over the years, I have worked with many Japanese interpreters in Las Vegas and it is often quite difficult to find someone as highly-skilled as Ms. Rios. I have a high level of confidence that she is able to fulfill your interpretation needs.

US Department of Energy
Remote Sensing Laboratory Arial Measuring System Mission Support and Test Services

We would like to express our greatest appreciation to Ms. Mami Rios for her services during the U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration, Office of Nuclear Incident Policy and Cooperation U.S.-Japan Technical Workshop on Aerial Radiological Emergency Response Concept of Operations hosted by MSTS Remote Sensing Laboratory Nellis – Nevada National Security Site, Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 20-22, 2018. The Workshop was attended by high ranking emergency managers from the Japan Government organizations. Ms. Rios initial assignment was to help with questions and answers sessions, but realizing that Japanese to English and English to Japanese interpretation will be beneficial for both sides in understanding the presented concepts, she quickly delivered the real-time interpretation for all presentations. It is worth notice that the presentation were highly technical, with radiological emergency response and aerial radiation measurements as the main subjects.
Ms. Rios skills happened to be essential to the success of the Workshop and we have no hesitation to recommend her services (including technical subjects) to anybody.

Major Gaming Operator in Las Vegas
Casino Shift Manager

I recently had the great pleasure of working with Amy during a very important presentation for my company. She was the primary interpreter for a company that wishes to partner with us internationally. Amy was very impressive in her personal and professional presentation and handled the questions that were asked on both sides impeccably. I have kept in contact with Amy since that very important meeting interaction and will not hesitate to reach out to her in the future if her skills are needed. She is highly recommended.
